Helpful Hints for your Scrapbook Retreat

To get the most scrapping done at your retreat it is best to take some time to plan your pages at home. Pre-planning your projects and sorting them into page planners can help you as your pack your supplies. Some enjoy packing up everything and taking advantage of the time away to get things organized.

Check out our tips and ideas for organizing your supplies and planning for a crop

Suggestions on what to bring:
There is nothing required for you to bring except whatever projects and supplies you want to work on.

Your personal scrapbook supplies such as... photos, paper, trimmer, adhesives, embellishments, tools, markers & pens. We will have equipment available for you to have enlargements or duplicates made of your photos or memorabilia over the weekend so if you've had it on you list to get that done, bring them along.

Plenty of ambition to get lots of pages done and a good friendly attitude to make many new friends. Get ready for some non-stop cropping! Sit with your friends and enjoy the freedom to crop as long as you like with No Interruptions, along with the security of knowing your things are safe if and when you decide to take a break. You may stay up as late as you wish and start as early as you wish so feel free to come and go as you please - the perfect setup for night owls and early birds. Set up your station at your seat and your supplies will be safe in the crop room from when you arrive to when you leave.

Comfortable, casual clothes (layered is best) and comfy shoes or slippers. Tempatures vary for everyone so layers can help you accomodate your particular needs so as to be most comfortable. If you want to scrap in your PJ's and slippers you are welcome to. We do tend to have some men scrapping with us as well!

A closed cap bottle for your drink so no worries about spills. A seat cushion can be a welcome addition to your scrapping weekend.

Soda and snack machines available as well as ice machines. We will have XS Energy drinks available for sale and you'll have plenty to eat all weekend with our buffets, coffee breaks and late night snack but bring along your favorite snacks and protein bars for any munchies you may get. You never know when a chocolate attack can hit!

You may want to consider a small desk lamp for extra light at your station. And, you'd need to bring a household extension cord. OTT-LITE is a portable desk lamp compact and popular amoung scrappers. We will have a small trash bag at every station for you.

For organizing your station you might consider a table top shelf for the "back" of your table space. You can get these cheaply -- less than $7 for a sturdy little shelf. You can see through to your across-the-table neighbor and have more space to put things that you want handy. A coffee mug for scissors, pens and such you want handy can be helpful.

Bring your swimsuit. A nice large hot tub is located on the lower level of hotel along with a fitness room which features a variety of weight training and cardiovascular machines, Stairmaster, Lifecycle and treadmills.

Camera, lots of extra film, (especially for photos of layouts you want to CASE later), extra camera battery, small packs of Kleenex, LOC Towelettes or Baby Wipes, Sharpie permanent marker to put your name on all the new stuff you buy, (of course, you have already labeled your equipment that you already own!! Things sometimes are loaned out, and they want to come home with you!). Other suggestions: lip balm/Chapstick, hand lotion, tweezers, Scotch tape, Band-Aids.

Bring some of your work to share -- we all love seeing other people's work. So bring some completed pages or an album if you have room. We will have a Scrapbooks on Parade area to share your work so bring along whatever you can fit!
